ONE LOVE FROM LONDON!

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

The Royal Couple and One Love Ambassadors Charles and Diane arrived in London around 6am UK time Friday May 9th, 2025!  They were exhausted and excited at the same time.

We arrived in London via a one-way plane ticket with the mind-set of taking the adventures ahead in “Ease-Flow” Charles and I were literally once again taking a leap into the unknown with a knowing and trust that it will be amazing and we will spread love into every space we enter. Charles and I knew right away this would be a different and more enriching adventure.  Since we were just in Europe a few months ago; we are starting this new adventure confidently with experience and knowing that getting lost is a part of the journey! First off, we took advantage of the wheelchair service provided by the airlines for Charles (Thanks Mom) This simple adjustment to our travel journey made a world of difference.  We moved through security and customs with ease, like VIPs or Royalty (winks) Also, since traveling with backpacks worked out so well during our last European adventures, that’s our new way of traveling so there was no stops at baggage claim for us! (Bonus)

We had plenty of time to spare prior to checking into our apartment so we decided to chill at the airport for a bit to look over our travel route from the airport to the apartment and simply relax after our long flight. (Smart Choice!)

We were escorted by our wheelchair transporter to a quaint coffee shop in the airport where we were able to lounge in comfy seats, enjoy our beverages, a snack, and people watch all to the soundtrack of great music streaming into the venue. This Pause was just what we needed to plan our next moves in “Ease and Flow”! Check it our HERE

Based on our previous experience with public transit in Europe, we decided that our best choice would be to purchase an unlimited monthly travel pass.  So our first purchase was an unlimited oyster travel card to all six zones in London.  The cost of public transportation in London is not cheap, it’s more expensive than Portugal/Paris, so the monthly card was a bit costly however in comparison to the daily travel rates the savings would be well worth it.  We have fully taken advantage of our unlimited travel card, confirming it was the right choice for us after just one week of traveling. (Tap Tap)

Once again, we decided to stay outside the city center.  After carefully researching areas outside of London we chose Beckenham for our first stop.  This quaint town has everything we enjoy all within a 1-mile radius.  Public transportation, bus or train is mere steps away from our front door allowing us access to anywhere in and around London.  *Side note:  The lift (elevator) was down our first three days of our stay, and we are on the top floor of the apartment. That was not a fun time! (Ha) Needless to say WE made it through, all a part of the journey!

There is so much about London that we simply just love; and we are excited for the adventures ahead.  The foodie in us is now ready to share, so let’s go!  The deliciousness of the food here in London is mind blowing, we are so grateful for all the walking because otherwise we would have gained 50lbs easily.  Okay just kidding maybe 44lbs (ha)  Seriously, we have definitely been enjoying some great meals here.

We are currently on a quest to discover the best fish and chips and so far, it’s been a tasty expedition.  Now don’t get it twisted we have also tried other things with this week’s highlight being a Chef prepared dining experience at “Meat Mood Smokehouse” which is just a few doors down from our current apartment.  Charles and I arrived shortly after opening and we had the entire place to ourselves.  Chef MeeMoe greeted us warmly and ensured we had an exceptional dining experience.  We were treated like Royalty and even given samples to try for our next visit.  We enjoyed a five star dining experience and the great conversation with Chef MeMoe made it even more special.

Human connections is always a priority for Charles and I which made connecting with our dear friend Sadiq for the first time in person, simply amazing.  Sadiq is London born and raised; he is doing amazing community building here in London and Dubai hosting How2Human meet-ups.  Charles and I were able to join a meet-up this week, and it was such a phenomenal vibe~!
