Think Bigger...

Updated: Mar 23, 2019

Day 17

The magnitude of my dreams in life, have often scared me. Then one day I read this saying;

"If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough"

One misconception about dreaming big is that you must have all your ducks in a row to get started. Plan, pray, and start taking small single steps in the right direction. Your resources will come. With very small beginnings, prayer, and activated faith, your dreams can come true; Remember your mustard seed faith can move mountains.

The excitement of a big dream, makes you want to share it with the world which is exactly what you should not do. Once you allow others into your plans they began to share their perspectives, doubts, and that can cause your dream to deflate or change course. I am not advising that you don't share your dreams, only saying do so with discernment.

Everybody may not be happy to see you in pursuit of your dreams. People who may have the means and resources may even chose not to assist you. However, that's okay, because knowing this at the start is helpful for you to stay on course.

There's another saying that goes; "When God gives you a dream he's not checking for your bank account, he's checking for your faith." This I know for sure, repeatedly God has given me assignments that were far beyond my means and resources. Yet, as I stepped forward in obedience everything that was needed God provided; allowing me to complete that which was assigned. Interesting enough, what I needed always came from the most unusual sources. This was God's way of confirming that it was him orchestrating the total process.

I am a living witness that if you truly surrender your plans to God, he will blow your mind. The key here is that you must totally surrender the plan. You can't say, "Lord I trust you, as long as you give me what I want, the way I want it, and when I want it." See, that's how things go to the left, because God ways are so much higher than ours.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~Jeremiah 29:11

Personally, I trust God but it's his timing that get's me into situations. Waiting is not fun for me, especially when I am waiting for something I really want or think I need. In my times of waiting, I have been guilty of trying to give God a little unwarranted/unneeded assistance. Let me just say this, it never works out quite the way I saw it in my mind; actually in most cases, the waiting time is extended. Although I am a pretty quick learner, I have had quite a few remedial lessons on waiting.

Finally, tired of impatiently waiting , I prayed for guidance on how to "Wait Well." Soon after that prayer was rendered, the following revelation came to me.

What if waiting is the soil God uses for us to GROW!!!

Still, not particularly fond of waiting, I see it as fertile soil for growth. This allows me to wait with more patience. I know that whatever God has promised, he is faithful to his word.

I am reassured of this every time I look up in the sky and see a rainbow.

No matter how big your vision is, God's plan for you is bigger. The same holds true for any illness or problem you may face, God is bigger. The key is knowing for yourself and trusting, that as Big as God is, he can still fit into your heart. ~One Love Diane
