NEW BEGINNINGS…

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”  Isaiah 43:19

The greenway is my happy place here in Tennessee. Now, if we were talking about Florida, you would find me in Destin with my feet in the sand. Let me get back on track, cause as you can see the beach is calling my name. So, I enjoy walking the greenway, becoming one with nature and all that God has created. Listening to the sounds and viewing the beautiful water. Also, God likes to speak to me during my greenway walks and I always have a listening ear towards my Father.

On this particular day I noticed something NEW. The old wood planks that I would normally walk on were now replaced with new wood. Something about experiencing a NEW thing. I don’t know about you, but I appreciate a new car or a new home. It’s like a new blank piece of paper that is ready for the ink to form something special on it. NEW BEGINNINGS!

As I walked upon the newly renovated bridge, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me. I was reminded that sometimes we need to uproot some things and put a new foundation down! We need to uproot hurt and pain and place a new foundation of JOY. We need to uproot hate and put a new foundation of LOVE. We need to uproot unforgiveness and place a new foundation of forgiveness. We need to uproot the lies of the enemy and place a new foundation of God’s TRUTH. We need to take the time to replace and build a strong foundation!

As we enter the new year let’s re-evaluate our foundation. Are there mindsets we need to replace? Are there “friends” we need to replace? Are there distractions that we need to replace? In this NEW season that we are entering, let’s filter, remove, prune and block anything that is not intended to come with us into the NEW year.
